Calling all Lowedges locals!
We are really excited to announce that we will be starting a activity for young people!
Every Monday after school, we’ll be providing young people age 10-16 with the opportunity to relax and socialise in the comfort of the community centre.
Nik, a trained chef will be cooking simple but healthy and homely meals. Everyone will be welcome to watch, learn, cook and eat!
Mal, a therapist, will be there to talk to young people about any problems, thoughts or concerns – or just simply to have a chat! Mal really wants to focus on encouraging young locals to think about their futures, and will be here to help with CV and job applications, and give great advice.
Board games, pool tables and music will be available for everyone to enjoy.
This plan is in its early stages but we’re really keen to get the ball rolling!
In order to do this, we need your help.
If you think your children could be interested in attending a club like this, feel free to comment below, or message us privately!
Anyone who thinks they would be keen to get involved, or knows anyone who may be able to help out with food donations – get in touch!
We really think this will be a great way to get the young people of Lowedges away from their computer screens, making a valuable and enjoyable use of their time!
This new project, led by LBJ Forum, is possible thanks to a partnership approach to developing activities and recruiting volunteers. Time Builders, working with Reach South Sheffield have supported us to recruit volunteers and facilitated the planning, while MASKK are teaching us how to create a safe and stimulating environment for young people.
Thanks guys – we look forward to hearing from you!
